Pregnancy and birth are journeys into empowerment. This process is a transformative experience, a journey of self-discovery, strength, and empowerment.  At Intouch and Intune, we believe that every woman deserves to have a birth experience that honors her unique journey and empowers her to make the educated choices that feel right for her.  Our approach to traditional midwifery is rooted in this belief and we are committed to support women as they walk their path to empowered childbirth. Traditional midwifery plays a role in mother's birth journey to empowered pregnancy and birth.

Traditional midwifery is a practice that honors the natural process of birth.  It centers around the woman, her body, her baby and the natural hormonal process of the birth.  InTouch and InTune midwife Sharon, is a traditional midwife who understands that every woman’s journey is unique.  She is there to provide guidance, support, and a safe space for women to express their fears, desires, and dreams for their birth experience.

One of the powerful elements of our approach is the emphasis on releasing fear.  Fear can be a significant barrier to a positive birth experience.  It can be conscious, subconscious, held in muscles or organs and hidden somewhere in the body.  It can cause a woman to feel disempowered when least expected. It can cause her to feel disconnected from her body and baby, creating an atmosphere that causes her to mistrust her body’s ability to birth.  Our midwife works closely with each woman, so as to provide guidance, and support that empowers her to process her fears and to make informed decisions along every step of this pregnancy, labor and birth journey.

Another important aspect of our approach is helping women discover their inner strength.  This can be through education about what foods are best, and what teas, supplements and modalities would be helpful at every stage of pregnancy.  Birth can be an incredibly empowering experience, and we believe that every woman has the strength within her to navigate her unique birth journey.  Through our midwifery services, we help women tap into this inner strength, empowering them to approach their pregnancy and birth experience with confidence and courage.

At Intouch and Intune, our approach to midwifery is not just about delivering babies.  It’s about journeying with women as they navigate one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.  It’s about empowering women to discover their inner strength, release their fears, and make the best, informed birth choices that come their way.  We honor each woman’s unique journey, providing compassionate, personalized care that respects her and her baby’s needs.  Privacy and a calm atmosphere allows the hormonal preset cocktail of labor and birth to progress without intervention.  The body has a natural expulsive reflex, that when allowed, works in mother’s favor as baby automatically expels from mother’s body.   The placenta births shortly after the baby’s birth.

We believe that every woman deserves an empowering birth experience and we are honored to be a part of that journey. We invite you to discover more about our approach to traditional midwifery and how we can support you on your unique birth journey.

In conclusion, Intouch and Intune is more than just a traditional midwifery service.  It is a partnership, a journey for the mother and baby unit, along with the midwife, into self-discovery, empowerment, and the beautiful process of pregnancy and birth.  Our commitment to each woman we serve, is to be present to her, providing guidance, acknowledging fears, and discovering the power of birth together.  So, if you envision your birth experience as a journey of empowerment and self-discovery, Intouch and Intune is here to walk that journey with you.
